    About the role
    We are looking to recruit experienced coachsupervisors on a part-time consultancy basis for our new specialist professional development programme,Accelerate (,a programme tailor-made with our partners, the Chartered College, for earlycareer teachers – those in the first five years of teaching. This new programme provides early career teachers with theessential specialist support they need to rapidly improve their practice toimprove outcomes for learners; with Accelerate, early career teachers willquickly become more effective and efficient in the classroom. Built aroundprofessional development models that are the most effective in improvingteacher practice and student outcomes, Accelerate incorporates expert instructional coaching, deliberate practice, andhigh-quality, evidence-informed content delivered through a flexible, blendedmodel.

    The Accelerate participantsstudy online modules that guide theirpractice and prompt reflection on their development as teachers. They aresupported throughout the programmeby a coach who gives 1:1 support and runs short local workshops each term. The coachsupervisors will play a vital role in supporting andsupervising these instructional coaches with three supervision calls untilMarch 2020 to provide the coach with the space to reflect on, and develop,their coaching practice.

    Person Specification
    The ideal candidate for these coach supervisor roles would be a successful, experienced teacher or senior leader in a school setting who is currently or has recently worked in the UK state school system. They should have significant experience of coaching and supervising others in education and have, ideally, a recognised coaching or coaching supervisor qualification.

    Significant experience of coaching and supervising individuals
    Evidence of being an expert classroom practitioner
    An understanding of the characteristics of effective teacher professional development
    Experience and knowledge of instructional coaching and how it differs from other forms of coaching
    Evidence of successfully using coaching skills to bring about sustainable improvements in the classroom practice of your colleagues
    A recognised coaching supervision qualification
    A recognised coaching qualification
    Up to date knowledge of research-informed teaching and pedagogical practices
    Experience of coaching individuals at different stages in their careers
