    Job summary
    The Red Hat Developers team is looking for a Senior Principal Technical Marketing Manager who has a passion for open source and developer tooling to join us. In this role, you will work as a technical product marketer, so you’ll work most closely with the product management teams in our own, and other, business units. You’ll be responsible for understanding the technical changes made across our various developer tools and you’ll work with the associated product managers to write market, competitive, and field positioning documentation for them. These documents will be used as the foundation for your peers in developer marketing to create the various launch, field, and event materials needed for our tools portfolio. As a Senior Principal Technical Marketing Manager, you will also periodically work with product managers and product marketers in other business units to augment their positioning so that it provides value to a developer audience. You’ll be expected to maintain exceptional quality because the positioning guides all other assets and is highly visible not only within Red Hat, but also in our open source communities.     Primary job responsibilities
    Create, maintain, and communicate the product and project positioning for Red Hat’s portfolio of developer-facing tools and platforms
    Work with product managers to understand their vision for each offering and release so that themes can be established and used by the marketing team
    Work with the Developer Marketing team to ensure that the positioning is clear and meets their needs and team up with them to review and augment any existing or new assets based on the positioning
    Participate in quarterly and annual reviews of the portfolio’s direction and effectiveness to ensure that positioning is meeting the market, user, and customer needs and that it’s properly aligned with the Developers team and larger Red Hat corporate strategy
    Collect and analyze market, competitive, and customer data to ensure the positioning will resonate in the market and achieve business goals
    Participate in engineering team sprint demo meetings and review release notes, as well as pull requests where necessary, in order to stay aware of emerging innovations in our offerings
    Report to management the current status and future plans for product, project, and portfolio positioning
    Required skills
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    3+ years experience working with software development teams, ideally as part of an agile development team
    Solid understanding of Git, integrated development environments (IDEs), continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) tools, containers, Kubernetes, and Java
    Experience with team software development, ideally spanning from small teams to large teams
    Domain expertise in software development life cycle methodologies and approaches
    Familiarity with current application life cycle development management (ALDM) tools, services, and technologies
